Yule

Our exciting new episode is here, and we do our best to be positive and upbeat because it is Christmas and it is a time for reflection and optimism. And vampires.

There is something somewhat Christmassy about Let the Right One In, but that’s probably just because it takes place in Sweden so there is snow on the ground and everyone’s wearing heavy jackets. There is also some ice skating, and a man pours acid on his face. We spend some time this week talking about the film, which is highly recommended. Sadly, it’s tough to find here in the U.S., with a just a few theaters screening it, mostly in major cities. But never fear, for Hollywood is already prepping a remake, which is sure to be filled with pretty young American kids and hopefully a killer soundtrack and some kind of fast food tie-in.

We’re Back

Were Back

We’re Back

So as promised, we’re back with a new podcast after a short break. Also true to our word, we did rant on about the utter disappointment that were the True Blood and Secret Invasion finales. Is there something about wrapping up stories these days? In both cases they did not seem like endings. Rather sloppy and ridiculous wrap-ups of the current storylines so they can move on to shiner new storylines. Our suggestion, be good to your endings. You never know when they’ll be your last.

Holiday Hiatus

This is the first image that comes up when you do an image search for pilgrims. I don’t know what is up with the kid in the dress, but he doesn’t seem too happy about it.

Due to holiday commitments and me traveling to lovely New Jersey, the podcast is going to be off the air this week and next. Sadly this means you will not get to hear our comments on Four Christmases’ riveting box office performance. It’s okay though, because I have run out of jokes about The Secret Life of Bees and it should be well out of the top ten by the time we’re back. Rest assured we will be back in two weeks and better than ever, at which time I will be complaining for at least twenty minutes about the True Blood finale, which was ridiculous. If Jose wants to record a solo effort, I will make sure it’s posted ASAP.
