Slacker

This is a two man operation and one man has been slacking off…Me. This post is almost three weeks over due. I’ve missed two whole episodes of the show, both were really good. You should listen to them. They are over to the side on the little player or make with the click on the above links. This is what happens when the Holidays approach. We (I) get busy and things like this start to fall by the wayside.

We were off last week but we will be back this week. Meanwhile, enjoy the Star Wars parody trailer we talked about on the last show. It really is pretty funny.

The Cyberman is the Brigadier!

Jose was off gallivanting with posh theater folk last week, but we’re back to talk about things! There’s a lot of film news to cover, and of course we can’t not comment on part two of the big Doctor Who season finale, “Death in Heaven.” I loved the first part, so what did I think of the second part? It’s horrible. Bring on Santa Claus! Surely that won’t be bad.

Their Turn

We had to take a break due to illness (again) but it was a good thing because Marvel/Disney decided to drop a ton of news about  “Phase 3” of the Marvel Plan. So we talk a lot about that on the show. Also this week was part one of the big Doctor Who finale. I was a little down on it but now that I’ve seen it again I’ve come around, but Danny Pink is still boring.

Not All Orcs Are bad

This week’s episode was recorded on a Saturday, but posted on a Tuesday – it’s all out of whack over here at Zero Room HQ. And the snacks are awful. Anyway, here is a brand new episode of the podcast! The big news this week is Warner Brothers’ giant DC announcement, where they lay out the next six years of the DC Cinematic universe (DCCU). If you’re interested in knowing which mediocre superhero flick you’ll be watching in 2020 (spoiler – it’s Green Lantern), tune in! We’re also talking Doctor Who: Flatline, and a whole bunch of other stuff that is almost as important. Enjoy!

I’ve Been Very Busy This Week

We put up a new show on Monday, I’m just getting to the blog on Friday.  So that’s how my week has gone.

That all said it was a good show.  Doug shocked me by enjoying the latest episode of Doctor Who “Kill the Moon”, I liked it too but of late we’ve been on opposite sides of the Doctor Who spectrum so it was nice to agree on this. Sorry for the short post this week, but I’m pretty sure I have another cut to get out. Make with the clicky to listen to the show and see ya next week. Cheers.

Two Hundred and Seventy-Blime

This week’s episode is a whole lot of talking with very few pauses in between – we flit from topic to topic like two cocaine-addled teenagers locked in a room with a box of Trivial Pursuit cards. There are numerous trailers to discuss, including the awe-inspiring Jupiter Ascending preview and a hilarious look at The Interview. Plus a whole bunch of other crap and a discussion of the latest Doctor Who episode, “The Caretaker,” which I thought was in line with the stupidity of the rest of the season so far, but Jose actually liked quite a bit.

Two Hundred and Seventy Veidt

Not sure if my Partner in Crime ever used this one before, but there are simply way too many other posts to look through to see if I’m repeating the same joke. This week on the show we had a nice dramatic reading of the Avengers : Age of Ultron synopsis, which is lovely and we talked a bit about the Minecraft acquisition by Microsoft. But the fireworks fly when we talk about this weeks Doctor Who episode “Time Heist”. I think I’m starting to like this season a lot more than Doug. So come for the information, stay for the clash of opinions.

Saturday Evening Recorded

We recorded a day early this week, but we’re posting the show at the same time we normally post the show, so the version you’re listening to is missing a day. Deal with it. This episode covers the big Mojang buyout, the possible Titans series on TNT (Boom), and more. We also discuss the latest Doctor Who episode, which is totally mediocre, yet still manages to be the best episode they’ve done so far this season.

Excecution

We talked this week a lot about the last two Doctor Who episodes (Into the Dalek and Robot of Sherwood).  We disagreed as to which episode we liked more.  Though we did not talk about it on the show it reminds me of how hard executing a weekly television show is. Both the episodes have a good premise (the morality of a Dalek / a fun romp through Robin Hood’s world), yet both come up a little short. There are so many things that go into making a weekly television show, if only one of them fail it brings the whole episode down.

Two Seventy-Five (Post Hospitalization Edition)

The podcast returns, with a fully-healthy Jose having totally ruined our mostly-regular recording schedule by having an allergic reaction to something and kind of almost dying. But never fear! We are back for this week with much to discuss before we go on break for one more week and then return again.

So there’s a new Doctor. We talk about that. One of my favorite shows, Utopia, just ended its second series in the UK. We talk about that. Grant Morrison took some mushrooms and wrote a comic book. We talk about that. Jose is playing Divinity and getting whipped. We talk about that. And there’s some other stuff in there, too, including an opinion on lesbian lizards that will probably get me in trouble. Enjoy!
